Head Coach Aquatic Club of the West Shore

The Aquatic Club of the West Shore (ACWS) is seeking a Head Coach for it's year-round swim club.  ACWS has been providing local youth, from the suburban Harrisburg, PA region, with an opportunity to participate in a competitive aquatics program since 2004.  The club is a member of the CASL summer swimming league as well as USA swimming.

The qualified candidate will have a love for the sport of swimming with a strong desire to build a team that values both sportsmanship AND fun!  The essential duties of the Head Coach include:

  • Leading swimmers through swim practices, while evaluating their skills, and providing guidance to swimmers in how to master the strokes;
  • Working with the coaching staff to plan and organize training cycles and conduct monthly staff meetings;
  • Coordinating and entering the team in USA meets and working with the board's League Representative on securing local meets;
  • Setting up, attending, and supervising swim meets, while ensuring the safety of the swimmers;
  • Regularly checking equipment for necessary repair or replacement;
  • Being supportive, encouraging, and enthusiastic with swimmers and staff.

Qualifications include:

  • Previous competitive swimming experience
  • Current USA Swimming Coaching Certification
  • 3 years of coaching experience and/or ASCA certifications preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work with all age groups
  • Experience managing a coaching staff preferred
  • Knowledge of and previous experience with Colorado systems and Meet Manager
  • A high level of professionalism

Assistant Coach Big Spring Aquatic Club

The Big Spring Aquatic Club is looking for an assistant coach for the 2017 2018 winter season. Practices are Monday Friday, 5:15 pm 7:00 pm from October 10, 2017 through February 2018.

Requirements:


At least 18 years of age
The ability to effectively collaborate with other coaches, board members, parents, and swimmers in a professional manner
State and Federal clearances
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of high school competitive swimming experience
Previous coaching experience
Ability to work with all age groups (8U 18U)
Current certification or willingness to become certified: CPR/AED/First Aid/Safety Training for Swim Coaches and lifeguarding
Duties:
Lead swimmers through age appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, starts, turns, etc
Encourage team unity
Attend meets, meetings, invitationals, etc
